Moon Is Doom Backwards: Deluxe Glistening Green Eco Mix Vinyl LP
Human Worth are proud to present Sly & The Family Droneâs killer new album âMoon Is Doom Backwardsâ, with a portion of all sales proceeds donated to charity. Moon Is Doom Backwards, made almost exactly three years ago at Larkins Farm, is a patient, stalking, lurking thing. A properly noir thing, as notable for its long stretches of quiet atmosphere as it is for its pummeling skronk. Slyâs is a strange sort of quietude, though.Â
A "drums heard through the wall", "disquieting electrical hum" kind of quiet. An "eavesdropping PI", "solo sax on rooftop" sort of quiet. An attention-grabbing kind of quiet so engrossing that, when our fave neo-jazz wrecking crew actually gets to wrecking - and they still wreck real good - weâre caught off-guard, wrong-footed, defenseless. We get run the hell over by The Family Droneâs quintet of bulldozers. The restraint on display here is something else. The bandâs approach is more measured than ever, rendering disruptions of their meticulously crafted sonic spaces all the more meaningful. Those sonic spaces contain the architecture of countless cult horror flicks, B movies, midnight screenings, and cable access shows. It's leather and street gangs and switch blades. Total dark side Leonard Bernstein stuff.Â
Human Worth have pressed up a limited run of âGlistening Green' Deluxe Eco Mix Vinyl, housed in a stunning package featuring the art of percussionist Kaz Buckland, with a portion of all sales proceeds donated to charity. âMoon Is Doom Backwards is the real deal. Sly & The Family Drone are the real deal. Smash that "buy now" button.â â Bernie Brooks
