As part of our T. Rex â1973â year campaign, alongside the âWhatever Happened To The Teenage Dream?â 5LP and 4CD box sets, and the âSongwriter: 1973â LP, Demon Records will be issuing T. Rexâs 1973 singles as highlycollectable limited edition 7â picture discs, with photos from the Keith Morris archive.
The second release is âThe Grooverâ, originally released in early June 1973. It peaked in the UK charts at number 4, while 10cc (âRubber Bulletsâ), Fleetwood Mac (âAlbatrossâ) and Suzi QÂ (âCan The Canâ) occupied the top three positions. âThe Grooverâ stayed in the charts for nine weeks.
Neither âThe Grooverâ or its B-side âMidnightâ appeared on the âZinc Alloyâ album, released in January 1974.
